The actual tear-down and construction were done in a remarkably timely manner. Our beautiful new bathroom was completed within 2 weeks. We were involved in all the decision making and felt included at every turn. Andre and his partner did amazing work and paid attention to every detail. Service Requested Quality Value Saved My husband and I hired AdVal to reface our kitchen cabinets and drawers. We wanted white oak to replace all the cherry wood that we had installed 23 years ago. One of the owners, Andy, came out and gave a great "pitch" about his company and after meeting with 8 separate companies, we decided AdVal was our best bet. And we were so right! Our work crew was a father/son duo, Anthony and Brandon. They were so easy to work with: quiet; respectful; showed up on time and worked really, really hard all day; cleaned up before leaving each day; easy to talk to; and did just brilliant cabinetry work. I would use the word "meticulous" to describe their skills. Anthony even pulled a rabbit out of his hat and built exactly what I wanted around the hood vent over the cook top: he was able to encase the hood vent with the same white oak we were using in the rest of the kitchen. I had showed him a photo of something like it I found on line and he said, "I can make that". And he did --- it's beautiful and is the crown jewel of our renovated kitchen. There were a couple of other challenges regarding how to do this or that, and Anthony came up with solutions every time. What a talent he is! His son was also extremely careful about, among a bunch of other things, putting all the the drawers together and installing the new face fronts and soft-close hinges. And they did all of this in 6 work days! There was one small issue with our refrigerator leaking water (ice makers are a pain but you gotta love having one), and the other owner, Alan, came right out the same day, figured out what the problem was, drove over to the local hardware store and bought the part, came back to our house and fixed it the same day. That gets a "wow!" Debbie from their main office was very communicative, called back/sent emails when she said she would -- how rare is that these days? Very rare but she was right on top of everything related to our project. We are beyond thrilled with the outcome and know that we made the right choice. We initially met with Andy F. who provided resources and suggestions regarding materials and design. From the outset, Adval’s pricing was competitive, and the materials and design elements were appealing. Andy listened to our wishes and responded clearly and quickly. We chose Adval over all competitors for three primary reasons: we liked working with Andy, strongly positive reviews online, and competitive pricing using quality materials. The project lasted several weeks. We especially appreciated Clebio’s attention to detail and careful implementation of each stage of the project. Also our Project Manager, Patrick, consistently kept us informed of work schedules and project milestones. We had a firm deadline for this project. Adval met it without any contractor drama. We were so impressed with how they made sure everything was covered , taped, they were super kind, always had a smile. They worked so hard and we were so appreciative of them that we barbecued them lunch one day to thank them. Andy was helpful when we met him at The Granite Store to pick out flooring and shower walls. We appreciated the 18 month interest free financing. The interest free financing was a good selling point for us. We were told it would take approximately 2 weeks to complete our small guest bathroom project once we procured all of our materials. They were able to complete the project to our satisfaction within two weeks. We absolutely love our new bathroom! Alan, Pedro, Patrick, Jorge, Alex and the entire team were very professional and provided quality workmanship. Patrick, the project manager, went out of his way to find backsplash material to match the vanity top we purchased. The team communicated well during the job and would ask our opinion on the placement of materials. The team would tell us what time they would arrive the following day and what they would be working on. We felt the communication was excellent. We also appreciated the daily clean up by the workers before they left our home each day. When the job was done, we received calls to ask if we were satisfied and if we needed anything else. This is the 4th major home renovation project we’ve undertaken and we have to say this was by far our best experience. There was a MASSIVE bathtub/shower that took up a lot of space and neither of us like baths. So we wanted to remove the tub and install a shower unit. In addition, we really wanted to upgrade the overall look, including fixtures, lighting, john, etc. After getting designs and estimates from several contractors and not feeling terribly satisfied by any of them, we contacted Andy Fernandez at Adval Construction in Martinez. We hit it off right away. Andy understood what we were looking for and what we could get done on our budget. He worked with us every step of the way from the design to completion. He took us to his supplier and showed us the literally hundreds of options out there, and rather than letting us get anxious over the decisions, he was able to use his knowledge in design to guide us to the things he thought we would be most satisfied with. And he wasn't wrong. From Day 1, his crew was prompt, professional, knowledgeable, and informative. Any questions we had were promptly answered by Debbie, who handled scheduling for them. She patiently explained how each step of the remodel would go and answered all our questions. And the crew was really unobtrusive. We were afraid there would be a lot of noise that might freak out our cats, but quite the contrary. One of our cats actually liked to watch them work! So, to conclude, if you are thinking about remodeling any room in your home, I cannot recommend Andy and Adval Construction any more highly.Posted onVerified When I needed to do an emergency kitchen remodel due to water damage and exuberance of a local remediation company, I selected Adval due to their full-service contractor capability, reputation for quality, and willingness to work with me and my budget. Michael Yugo was particularly helpful, giving me insight and ideas as to how to approach fixing the red-oak floor, torn-up cabinets, drywall, plumbing, countertop, and kitchen cabinets. The job was started promptly and completed on time, with activity continuous throughout (unlike some contractors who might leave your job-site idle for weeks).
